Birthday Poem to a friend

Image
Who is Liza  (Birthday Poem to a friend) Whose toad is that? I think I know. Her foster owner is quite happy though. Full of joy like a vivid rainbow, I watch her laugh. I cry hello. Who is a BTS Army? I think we all know She is a fan of them and only them she follow She listens to their music and watches their every show And oh! She also helps their Youtube channel grow Who loves seafoods so much? I think I know Shrimps, clams, squid, and even roe She is also addicted to coffee, I guess we all know Like black coffee, latte, americano, and espresso Whose birthday today? Of course we all do know Her name is Liza, and she has a very very strong elbow (That is why we are here wearing black and yellow) All I hope is for you to continue to grow So that’s your cake, make a wish, and then blow (So you had your cake, I guess you made a wish before you did blow) By Ruchel Gagarin Oasan  ( 歐善璐 ) (July 8, 2021)

Xuéxí zhōngwén 学习中文

Image
Introduction: Ni hao Wang laoshi, tóngxué nǐ hǎo Wǒ de míngzì shì  Ou shanlu Wǒ bùshì shīrén Dàn wǒ xiěle yī shǒu shī Xuéxí zhōngwén First of all, Learning Chinese is complicated Just like my love life, that is so hard to be perfected Another complicated thing? When you are ask,  Wǒ xiǎng mǎi Jiǔshíwǔ gè píngguǒ,  duōshǎo qián?, it’s hard to compute the price right? because  it should be calculated That is why sometimes, I just ask Uncle Google for the words to be translated Learning Chinese is challenging Because you must consider the 4 tones when speaking Like this one – Qīng qiānmíng And if you mis-pronounce it, it will have another meaning But, Learning Chinese is also fun Just like when chī chǎofàn (Actually right now, Wǒ xiǎng chī chǎofàn) And in this class, we always ask Laoban And say, Nǐ mài kāfēi ma? Hái yǒu, měi bēi kāfēi duōshǎo qián? (and oh, is it from Taiwan?) Lastly, I learned a lot from this class, like Wǒ xǐhuān hē píjiǔ And now, Xuéxí zhōngw...

Death is not the end

Image
I wrote this during the peak of COVID-19 pandemic in the Philippines, when everyone is so worried and anxious.      It is normal to be scared and panic. But I want to tell you that there is nothing to be scared of if you are on the side of the Lord. The things happening around us are just signs that Jesus Christ is really coming soon. There is nothing we can do to stop these things from happening, but there is something we can do as Christians to make the second coming of Christ sooner.       Let us grab this opportunity to share God’s word, love, hope, and peace to others. Let us not be weary, do not fear or panic. If we are really on His side then we should be glad that these things are happening. If we die now because of COVID-19, then so be it. Death is not the end of everything for those who believed in the Lord, in His words and followed His commands. Instead, there is an assurance of eternal life for them. Besides, when you die, your sufferings ...

Echoes of Emotion: A Poetic Tribute

Image
I sense the pain in many hearts,  Where voices struggle to find their parts.  In a world where silence often prevails,  Our cries for help seem to set sail. We feel something's wrong deep inside,  Our strength tested, emotions can't hide.  Seeking solace, a helping hand,  But sometimes, understanding is in short demand. We reach out to those who'll truly hear,  Not seeking pity, just a listening ear.  To share our thoughts, hopes, and fears,  In their presence, solace appears. Their company, their words, bring cheer,  Even simple jests, drawing near.  We might be different, that's plain to see,  Yet, their friendship means the world to me. We're often misunderstood, that's true,  Our feelings complex, our paths askew.  Our emotions are more than a fleeting glance,  In our hearts, a symphony of circumstance. Though life may bring hurt, unintentionally,  How we respond, we can't always foresee.  But we mu...
